Young people aged 13-25 across the UK have the opportunity to apply for a cash grant of £300 to support a project of their choosing in their local community.
If successful, young people will also receive a package of training and support to help them make the most of the cash investment. Successful applicants will be offered the opportunity to re-apply for a further £2,500 cash injection.
Applications can be submitted at any time and should be submitted by the young person.

Charities faced a “toxic mix of circumstances” over the past year, with increased demand for services, rising costs and an unprecedented fall in income, our Chief Executive said today.
New figures from NCVO depict a charity sector struggling with the worst recession for fifty years. The figures, released today for the first time, show that charities were hit by £2.3 billion in rising costs purely as a result of inflation between 2008 and 2010.

Nick Hurd announces four local authorities will run pilots, offering contracts to charities and social enterprises to tackle ‘the pointless cycle of crime and deprivation’
The Office for Civil Society is to ask private and charitable investors to purchase social impact bonds worth up to £40m that will fund new schemes to support “problem families”.
Nick Hurd, the Minister for Civil Society, announced today [26th August 2011] that Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham, Birmingham and Leicestershire local authorities had been chosen to pilot schemes.

Birmingham City Council is launching its ‘Adults and Communities Third Sector Commissioning Prospectus 2012-2014′. This outlines a range of services for vulnerable adults that the Council is looking to support via Grant Funding.
Grants will be offered for an initial period of up to 2 years, with a potential one year extension option.
What Services is the Council looking to Support?
Grants are available for services that can deliver on the Department of Health’s Adults Social Care Outcomes Framework (ASCOF) Four Domains and Adults and Communities six Prevention Outcomes.
